Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE a good vodka martini. Over the years, I’ve transitioned from the traditional dirty martini to something more dry. Below is my favorite way to make this classic cocktail… don’t forget the blue cheese stuffed olives!
2 shots Vodka (I prefer Kettle One, Chopin, or Tito’s – duh, I’m in TX!)
1/2 shot Dry Vermouth
1/2 shot Olive Juice (optional – for a dirty martini)
3 Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives
1 cup Ice
In a cocktail mixer, pour in the dry vermouth and swirl around until the mixer is coated. Dump out the extra. Add in vodka, ice, and olive juice (if desired) and shake for 20-30 seconds. I absolutely LOVE when the ice chips make it into the martini, so sometimes I’ll shake a bit longer. Pour into a martini glass and place the olives in the glass on a tooth pick (or floating).
Makes one darn good cocktail – CHEERS!
