Taco Dip

I saw this on Facebook, and decided to make it for a football gathering – man, was it a hit!  Very similar to the 7 layer dip, but so easy to make and a total crowd-pleaser. I personally like a more spicy taco seasoning to mix with the cream cheese – gives the dip a nice little kick.  Make ahead, just in time for the Super Bowl!

Ingredients

1 cup Salsa

1 cup Sour Cream

2 8 oz blocks Cream Cheese, softened

1 oz packet Taco Seasoning (spice of your choice)

2 cups Mexican Cheese, shredded

3-4 Green Onions, diced

In a mixing bowl, mix together the cream cheese and taco seasoning.  If you get a more spicy seasoning pack, I would start with half and add until you are happy with the taste of the mixture.  Then, take a 9″x13″ pan (or any serving dish with a 1.5″ edge), and spread an even layer of the cream cheese mixture (as thick as you prefer).  Then, take the sour cream, and spread evenly on top of the cream cheese.  Next, do the same with the salsa – I used chunky salsa, but whatever your favorite is will do.  Top with a good layer of shredded cheese, and lastly, the green onions. Pop in the fridge and serve with Tortilla Chips – couldn’t be easier.  Enjoy!
