Sautéed Mushrooms

I absolutely love a good steak dinner, mostly because of the side dishes that accompany it.  One of my most favorite are sautéed mushrooms.  The below recipe is DYNAMITE, and is incredible on any steak.

2 tbsp Unsalted Butter

1 tbsp Olive Oil

1 Yellow Onion

16 oz Mushrooms

3 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

2 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar

1 tbsp Dijon Mustard

1 tbsp Ground Ginger

2 cloves Garlic, minced

Fresh Thyme

Salt & Pepper

In a sauté pan on medium heat, melt the butter with the oil.  Add in the onion (sliced), and a pinch of salt.  Stir until the onion begins to soften.  Next, add in the minced garlic, and stir until the garlic is fragrant (roughly, 30 seconds).  Add in the mushrooms, balsamic, Worcestershire, dijon, and ginger, pinches of salt and pepper, and mix until all mushrooms are coated with the sauce.  Cover, and simmer for about 3 minutes.  Lower the heat slightly, and cook uncovered for a few more minutes, until the sauce thickens.  Add some chopped fresh thyme.  Top on a nice, juicy steak and enjoy!
