Ricotta & Honey Toast

French food has to be my most favorite cuisine – bold flavor, simple ingredients, and most of the time some (or lots of) butter.  I discovered this incredible French restaurant a few months ago, right across the street from my apartment.  Mercat Bistro is the perfect taste of France right here in Dallas!  If you are local, you have to check them out – their food is simple and delicious.  They have this Ricotta and Honey Toast that I’m OBSESSED with – creamy ricotta, bright lemon zest, and sweet honey… to DIE for!  Their toast is served with honeycomb, which takes it to a whole new level – so, this is my stab at recreating this delicious appetizer.


8 pieces of Toast or Crostini 

1 cup Ricotta Cheese

Zest of 1 Lemon


Salt and Pepper

In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt and pepper until well combined.  Spread on toasted bread or crostini, then drizzle with honey.  The perfect snack!
